View service →Where we work
Every district moves differently. The constraint is rarely the hardware — it is dock access, elevator windows and what the building will let you do after 6pm.
Tower moves where freight elevator windows, dock booking and after-hours building access set the schedule before anything technical does.
Campus office parks with their own loading arrangements and, increasingly, in-building server rooms rather than closets.
Industrial and light-industrial sites with grade-level dock access — the easiest moves to sequence and the ones most often left to the last minute.
Warehouse, logistics and airside operations that cannot take a weekday outage at all.
Lab, research and spin-out environments where the equipment is not standard rack hardware.
Satellite offices moved on the same documented process as the head office, usually inside one window.
Outside the city, Caliber runs the same process in Edmonton and the capital region, and across Alberta for oil and gas operators and healthcare custodians.
Method
The same documented sequence every time. It is the reason equipment comes back up on the first attempt.
A dedicated project manager documents every asset, dependency and constraint before anything is unplugged.
Existing connections are mapped and labelled so the destination build matches the source exactly.
Controlled shutdown, disconnection and antistatic wrapping by trained specialists.
Custom carts, insured vehicles, and documented custody from dock to dock.
Equipment is re-racked and re-cabled to the mapped topology at the destination.
Power-on, connectivity and validation testing before the project is signed off.
Port mapping is the stage that decides whether the rest of it works. Here is what it involves and what happens without it.

Before you call
Six to eight weeks for a full office or server room, longer if a downtown tower is involved — freight elevator windows in the core are often booked a month out. A single server or a small rack can usually be scheduled inside two weeks.
Most of it. Cutovers are scheduled overnight, on weekends, or inside an agreed maintenance window so staff arrive to a working floor. Building access and elevator booking are arranged as part of the scope, not left to the client.
General movers handle the transport. They do not port map, they do not rebuild a rack to its source topology, they do not test and validate connectivity before sign-off, and their insurance is not written against enterprise hardware. The failure shows up at power-on, after the movers have left.
